The above article is an update. Her mother went to appeal to keep her out of the psychiatric ward and lost. She will be institutionalized because of her expression of her gender. She will be held until she conforms to male gender and then released to foster care, not her mother who was supporting her.

I am really on the fence. I listened to it over and over and I can hear nig-kuhh-fff, OR nik-guhh-fff. If it’s a k, it’s a k that is DANGEROUSLY CLOSE to a g. If it’s a g, it’s slightly sharper than a normal g, but that come from cutting himself off.

maybe it is just me?
i am super paranoid about pronunciations. and super sensitive to the way people pronounce different sounds and syllables. when i study foreign languages, i obsessively listen to recordings of native speakers until i am certain i have gotten the exact vowel and consonant pronunciations.
to MY ear, it sounds like a “k” sound instead of a “g”...
